Jack T Canis lives in South Wales, UK with his wife and three children. He started his professional career as an archaeologist, but through the years has also been a self-employed armourer; an administrator for the NHS and in recent years a qualified person-centred counsellor specialising in bereavement and loss, now retired. Currently he is a full-time carer for his youngest child who has Sotos Syndrome and is a part time writer.

His debut novel 'Ordinary World' was published in November 2023 and is available in the 'Publications to date' page. It is a story about Olivia Buchanan, in her final week as a 16yo coming to terms with her dysfunctional family - Reg, her dad, a bully and a brute & her mother, Phyllis, who suffers from delusional schizophrenia. During this eventful week Olivia encounters a number of weird and freakish looking people, all of whom purport that she is the saviour of humankind.

She is left with a two part question that she struggles to answer:

Is she, as they say, the culmination of a 30 year secret experiment to create the ultimate human, who will save the world? Or:

Has she inherited her mother's schizophrenia which is now spiralling her into a nightmarish world created by a diseased and fractured mind?

Also available are two short story collections: 'Horrific Tales for a Horrific Year' & '#Rehashed', plus several short stories and a novelette.

Forthcoming:

In a tradition established by the inimitable Douglas Adams, there is a four book trilogy called 'The 49th Gate'. A tale set in two timelines:

The first in the late 16th Century, following the young Scribe Elias who has been both cursed and blessed by God. And,

The second starting in the late 2020s  following DI Angus Westmore as he struggles to solve the murder of an eminent academic and the massacre of six teenagers who appear to have been in the midst of a Satanic Rite.

A third short story collection: 'Light & Dark.

A new tale in the adventures of Ronald Taylor as we follow him through his Weird & Unexpected World, called 'The Rescue'.

And slated for a release in 2025, the sequel to 'Ordinary World', 'The Conduit'.
